【2024 Activity Review】Advanced Volunteer Management Course

The "2024 Advanced Volunteer Management Course" organized by the Macau Foundation, Association of Volunteers Social Service Macao, started on November 16 and ended on November 30 this year. A total of 22 people signed up from friendly organizations, volunteer groups, college volunteer teams and corporate volunteer teams in Macau. A total of about 100 people attended the five courses. At the same time, the Association invited Dr. KY Leong, lecturer of social work courses at the Macau Polytechnic Institute, Ms. 盧鳳蓮, adjunct lecturer at the Macau University of Science and Technology, Ms. OF.CHAN from Hong Kong, Ms. 王秀庭, a senior trainer in the hotel industry, and Mr. Leo Hung, the Association’s Chief Supervisor, to serve as instructors for this course.
The course explains knowledge of volunteer management from multiple perspectives, starting from five modules: core courses, corporate volunteer management courses, volunteer training and teaching courses, volunteer work supervision courses, and volunteer work management courses. It is divided into compulsory courses and elective courses according to the nature and content of the courses. It is hoped that through course training and interaction, it will help Macao’s volunteer groups, community organization leaders, and enterprises solve problems encountered in daily volunteer management, such as “difficulties in organizing services”, “difficulties in volunteer management”, “difficulties in risk management”, “lack of sense of belonging among volunteers and high turnover rate”, and “volunteer supervision and improvement”.
