Sponsored by Association of Volunteers Sociao Service Macao and co sponsored by Hangzhou Youth Activity Center, Thailand dhammadrop foundation, education and Youth Bureau and higher education fund, the "network youth participation and exchange program 2019 of NGO alliance in coastal cities along the belt and road" was held from July 27 to August 7 this year. Volunteers participated in the 12 day volunteer service experience in Macao, Hangzhou and Chiang Mai, Thailand. The sub station charges a fee of 2000 Macau dollars for all three stations, and 2600 Macao dollars for two of the events. The cost includes all the expenses of accommodation, transportation, group insurance and volunteer service materials.
In order to let the participants understand the content of the event and deepen their understanding of each other, a pre trip workshop was held on July 20 to let participants know each other and explain the purpose and expectation of the event, the importance of teamwork and the matters needing attention for volunteers to serve in other places. At the same time, Macao participants will give full play to the host spirit, plan the city oriented route of Macao station, and act as the team leader to lead Hangzhou volunteers to experience Macao's characteristic culture, so that the participants can interact and strengthen the cohesion of the team. It is hoped that the workshop will develop the participants' planning ability and enhance their understanding of the concept of voluntary work.
The Hangzhou part of the event will be held from July 27 to July 31. After arriving in Hangzhou, Macao volunteers and Hangzhou volunteers will hold a group meeting to prepare for the volunteer service in Hangzhou station.
On the second day of the activity, volunteers from the two places arrived in Xingfu village of Jiande for volunteer education. They provided volunteer services with the left behind children in the village, and learned about the construction and development of rural areas in the mainland. In the afternoon, chairman Liao Yuqun, the leader of the activity, and volunteers went to Hangzhou volunteer Guidance Center for exchange and sharing. They visited the China Silk Museum and the West Lake to learn about the history and culture of Hangzhou.
On the fifth day, volunteers left for Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport early in the morning, leaving Hangzhou for Macao. However, due to the typhoon, volunteers from the two places stayed in Hangzhou and arrived in Macao on the evening of August 1. The volunteers went to the Bodhi youth and family comprehensive service center to experience the facilities of the center and learn about the types of voluntary work for young people in Macao. At the end of the service, Macao volunteers led a night tour with Hangzhou volunteers to introduce the history and culture of Macao.
On the seventh day of the event (August 2), which coincided with the 20th anniversary of Macao's return to China, Hangzhou volunteers visited the exhibition hall of Macao's return ceremony and the Golden Lotus Square under the arrangement of Macao volunteers to experience the exquisite craftsmanship and distinctive culture of different nationalities in China. In the afternoon of the same day, volunteers participated in the "seminar on promotion of voluntary work across the Taiwan Strait and the Great Bay Area - opportunities and challenges of corporate social responsibility for young people's social participation" sponsored by the association. On the eighth day, the volunteers left for the third stop of the event, Chiang Mai, Thailand. On the second day in Chiang Mai, group activities, such as meditation experience and group meeting sharing, were held in the camp to shorten the distance between volunteers in the two places.
On August 5, participants went to doI PHA SOM mountain area to participate in local service projects, repair water storage equipment and reservoir, and help local residents build water towers damaged by heavy rain.
On August 6, participants from the two places participated in a group to have a cultural experience in the urban area of Chiang Mai to learn more about the local culture of Thailand.
