Celebration of International Volunteer Day 2025 and Election of Outstanding Volunteers

In observance of the United Nations' International Volunteer Day, the Association of Volunteers Social Service(AVMS) annually hosts the “Celebration of International Volunteer Day 2025”, now in its 33rd year. This year's event, sponsored by the Macau Foundation, carries the theme “Responsibility in Heart, Action in Deed; Spirit in Volunteerism, Warmth in Hearts”. It aims to promote the values of volunteerism, advance community care, and foster positive social energy.

This Outstanding Volunteer Election received nominations from nearly 40 organizations, schools, and enterprises, attracting over a hundred exceptional volunteers. These volunteers hailed from various fields across society, with ages ranging from 13 to 80. Their contributions were comprehensively eva luated by a panel of 24 cross-disciplinary judges.

Presentation Ceremony

The award ceremony was successfully held on December 7, sponsored by the Macau Foundation. Following comprehensive eva luations by a 24-member multidisciplinary panel, numerous outstanding youth volunteers and the “Top Ten Outstanding Volunteers in Macau” were selected to recognize their exceptional contributions across various social service fields. Additionally, based on media reporting, social media performances, and professional observations, ten enterprises were honored as “2025 Outstanding Enterprise Volunteers in Macau,” acknowledging their achievements in fulfilling social responsibilities and promoting volunteer culture.

Year 2026 marks the 40th anniversary of AVMS founding, which also coincides with the UNESCO designated International Volunteer Year. This year carries dual commemorative significance, and a series of events will be organized to further advance the development of volunteerism in Macao.

“Star Rewards Program” (星級獎勵計劃)

Besides awards such as Outstanding Youth Volunteer, “Top Ten Outstanding Volunteers in Macau,” and “2025 Outstanding Corporate Volunteer in Macau,” there is also a special award—the “Star Volunteer Award,” sponsored by the Henry Fok Foundation. It includes the Outstanding Star Volunteer Award, Star Gold Award, and Star Silver Award. It encourages volunteers to internalize service as a long-term lifestyle and, through sustained participation, build profound service experience and social impact.
