【2024 Activity Review】Training Course for Youth Volunteers

In order to cooperate with the Macao government's youth work, the "2024 Youth Volunteer Training Course" sponsored by the Education and Youth Development Bureau and organized by the Association of Volunteers Social Service Macao was completed from November 16 to November 24 this year. A total of 35 people from volunteer groups of friendly organizations in Macao, schools and colleges and universities registered for the course. The total number of attendees was 120. The young volunteers participated in no less than 12 hours of basic training courses, 12 hours of project training courses, and 6 hours of service internship. At the same time, the Association invited Macau registered social workers 梁芷欣、張智勇、梁卓華and譚志恆to serve as instructors for this course.
 
The purpose of this course is to encourage young people to actively participate in voluntary work, cultivate their spirit of helping others and helping themselves, and give full play to the role of youth associations and non-governmental organizations to jointly promote young volunteers to participate in professional and systematic training courses, improve the quality of young volunteers and their service efficiency, and promote the physical and mental growth of young people. At the same time, we will lead young volunteers to understand the general situation of social services in Macao, as well as the definition, codes, obligations, rights, significance and value of voluntary work, so as to enhance their understanding of voluntary work. Finally, by providing service internship opportunities for young volunteers, their service skills are improved in a targeted manner based on the needs of the trainees and through explanations and training of service skills.
